The 2022 Supercars season gets underway in Sydney

The Supercars championship has kicked off for 2022 in ever-changing conditions at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Anton De Pasquale has topped opening practice in drying conditions, and Chaz Mostert was impossible to miss with blue hair. Still, when the helmet was on, the two-time Bathurst Champion managed the slippery conditions best in the final practice before tomorrow’s opening race.

The second practice session didn’t bode well for De Pasquale, who triggered a red flag for spinning off the circuit at high speed. Nevertheless, he avoided significant damage and will line up for today’s qualifying sessions.

Today we will see drivers take to the first qualifying and top ten shootouts of 2022 ahead of a 300km nighttime race set to kick off at 7:10 pm local time.
