Prepare to boot scoot your way around some of the Coast’s prime bars and breweries as the Miami Block Party heads west(ern) this Sunday, June 23. The country-themed bonanza will transform our beloved ‘Liquor Lanes’ into a bustling frontier town, filled with damsels and cowboys.
In the heart of the Hibiscus Haven, Lemana Lane & Christine Avenue block, SIX venues are joining forces to host the shindig. These include Hard FIZZ Taproom, Precinct Brewing, Paddock Bakery, Granddad Jack’s, Black Hops, and Pretty Handsome. The best part? Entry is FREE, and with an expected turnout of over 1000 people, 70% of whom are young families, this is a Sunday event not to be missed.
Live country music will set the scene, with an array of activities and games to keep the kiddies entertained. Running in conjunction with the popular Surface Festival, this month’s Miami Block Party is a must-attend event.
Hard FIZZ boss, Wade Tiller, couldn’t contain his excitement, “Time to dust off your spurs and snakeskin boots,” he chuckled. “We’re encouraging everyone to channel their inner Clint Eastwood and get dressed up in their best Western outfit.”
Locally produced craft beers, spirits, and seltzers will be on offer, and the event is set to be a family affair with everyone invited. “There’ll be plenty of games, activities, and prizes for best dressed,” added Tiller.
Luke Ridden, founder, and distiller at Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery, expressed his excitement for what is fast becoming a fantastic family event. “The Gold Coast is now a ‘destination’ for high-quality liquors, it’s well and truly on the map,” he said, “Whether it’s spirits, craft beers or naturally brewed seltzers, there’s something for everyone.”
Held every quarter, the Miami Block Party brings locals and tourists together. “I can’t wait to see the wild west come to the Gold Coast. It’s going to be a great day out”, concluded Ridden.
