Imagine stepping into a space where the outside world fades away, replaced by the warm crackle of vinyl and the clinking of a perfectly chilled martini glass. That is exactly what you will find at the newly opened W Brisbane Vinyl Listening Lounge. Launched earlier this month, this bespoke private room offers a sonic escape designed for those who appreciate great music and expertly crafted cocktails.
A Personalised Sonic Journey
At the heart of the experience is the idea of moving beyond standard hospitality. Instead of a typical bartender, you are welcomed by an Experience Host, a personal concierge who mixes drinks and ensures the state-of-the-art Adam Sound speaker system sounds flawless. You get to set the mood of the evening, whether you are craving late-night jazz, vintage glamour, or feel-good soft rock nostalgia. From there, the W Music Curator, Adam Swain, crafts a bespoke musical journey just for your group.
If you prefer a hands-on approach, you can browse a curated library of 100 records. Guests are completely free to unwrap and spin the vinyl themselves for a fun, do-it-yourself music session. To truly elevate the vibe, W Brisbane encourages a digital detox by offering a lock-box for your mobile phones, allowing you to go analogue and connect with your friends without distractions.
Press For Martinis and High-Low Bites
One of the most exciting features is Brisbane’s first-ever ‘press for martini’ button. The drink menu perfectly complements the analogue atmosphere. You can shake your own Sound of Martini made with Belvedere 10, or try the Japanese-inspired Sound of Salt, featuring miso-infused Belvedere 10 and seaweed. If you want a lighter option, the Sound of Violet shifts colours as you sip, blending fig-infused gin, butterfly pea tea, and house-made yuzu cordial.
The food menu hits all the right notes for late-night cravings, offering high-low bites with a sophisticated twist. Think Oscietra caviar blinis, whipped feta paired with figs and caramelised pecans, and the crowd-favourite truffled wagyu sausage rolls, known as the W Sauso Roll.
Haldon Philp, General Manager of W Brisbane, explains the vision perfectly: “In curating this space we saw an opportunity to do something unexpected and reimagine a former retail space into a private listening bar that reflects what our guests, and Brisbane locals, are looking for. They value experiences over possessions, and are gravitating to spaces that offer more than just a night out and are reconnecting with music in a really deep way. They want story, soul and connection – and this is what we’re bringing to them with the W Brisbane Listening Lounge”.
If you are ready to unplug, unwind, and enjoy an unforgettable evening of music and connection, gather your friends and secure your spot at this unique venue.
