The iconic burger chain founded by Mark Wahlberg has shut up shop in Surfers Paradise during the first week of the school holidays.
This comes after the parent company of the Australian operation, United Cinemas, entered external administration in August, and it closed several of the brand’s other locations, including the flagship location at Circular Quay.Â
At the time, the company was confident that the Surfers Paradise location was to stay open, but only two weeks later, the location failed to open its doors, and the business’s Google page is showing “Permanently Closed”.Â
The burger chain launched with much fanfare in October 2022, and even had a visit from Mark Wahlberg, who popped in while filming on the Gold Coast in 2024 and shared that it was the sexiest Wahlburgers, and you can see why.
