Zara last week opened a new flagship store on Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall, taking the number of Zara stores in Australia to 15. The new store on Brisbane’s main shopping street marks an important milestone for Zara by completing its presence in every major city in Australia. This flagship has a retail space of over 1,600 sqm spread over three floors which include all of Zara’s clothing collections – Woman, Man and Kids.
The design of the store features Zara’s latest global store concept, which combines beauty, clarity, functionality and sustainability. A sleek white surface spans the ceiling and walls so that the limits within the store are no longer defined. This helps to create the illusion of space and freedom. At the same time, lighting and a neutral backdrop help the garments to take center stage. The space invites the customer to enjoy the experience of feeling, touching, observing and interacting with the merchandise like never before.
The store also marks a new milestone in the company’s sustainability commitments by halving water consumption and reducing energy consumption by 30 per cent compared with a conventional store. To ensure the store continues to meet these energy reduction targets, its energy use is regulated by a central control centre at Zara’s headquarters in Arteixo, northwest Spain
