The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship calendar has been unveiled, featuring 14 rounds—the most since 2019—and signaling a significant year of change and expansion for the sport. This season is set to be remembered for years to come, highlighted by the official debut of Toyota, bringing the GR Supra to challenge the established dominance of the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.
The Championship kicks off with the Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Friday, February 20, the opening day, free for all fans to attend. This landmark move provides an accessible chance for everyone to witness the first-ever Supercars race of the Toyota GR Supra on Australian soil. The Bathurst 12 Hour event will run from February 13-15, the week before the Sydney 500.
The 2026 calendar breaks new ground by featuring a New Zealand double-header in April. Fans will first see action at Taupō, followed by a historic debut in Christchurch. This brings the championship closer to Kiwi fans than ever before. New Zealand audiences will be able to follow every moment thanks to a new four-year broadcast deal running through the end of 2029, making the entire Supercars Championship live on Sky Sport and Sky Sport Now.
The Race for the Cups
Competition across the 14 rounds is structured around three major prizes: the Sprint Cup, the Enduro Cup, and the Finals Series. The Sprint Cup battle will play out across nine events, an increase from eight in 2025, with the winner crowned at Queensland Raceway (Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440) in August. Co-drivers will join the grid to vie for the Enduro Cup at two key events: the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the iconic Repco Bathurst 1000.
Following the Enduro Cup events, the Finals Series begins on the Gold Coast. The top ten drivers in the Championship standings will qualify for the Finals Series, with the winners of both the Sprint Cup and Enduro Cup guaranteed a coveted Finals spot. The championship will reach its thrilling climax with three blockbuster finals:
Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton noted that the organization is incredibly proud to present a calendar that delivers “more racing” and “breaks new ground” for fans and teams. Fans watching in Australia can enjoy every session live and in full on Fox Sports and Kayo, with five Championship events, plus every race at the Australian Grand Prix, broadcast live and free on the Seven Network and 7plus. Furthermore, when tickets go on sale, fans can anticipate fresh ticketing packages designed specifically for families, enhancing accessibility to the sport.
