With just 40 days until engines roar across Mount Panorama, the Supercars community gathered in Sydney to officially launch the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 — and they did it in true spectacle.

Held in front of an impressive crowd of industry leaders, the evening set the tone for what promises to be another unforgettable chapter in Australia’s most iconic motorsport event. Chief Executive James Warburton welcomed a lineup of heavyweights including Supercars Chairman Barclay Nettlefold, team owners, star drivers, and key partners from Repco, Toyota, Foxtel and Seven West Media, alongside Destination NSW and Bathurst Regional Council representatives.

In his keynote, Warburton paid tribute to the passionate fanbase that elevates the Bathurst 1000 to more than just a race. “Bathurst remains the beating heart of our sport,” he said. “There is simply nothing like it anywhere in the world.”

Celebrating Champions and Community

A special moment in the night belonged to the recognition of the 2024 Erebus Motorsport team. Owner Betty Klimenko, CEO Barry Ryan, and drivers Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazlewood — the winning crew behind the #99 Chiko Chevrolet Camaro — were all honoured for their triumph at last year’s Great Race.

The atmosphere was supercharged by the performance of the Supercars Symphony, a 36-piece orchestral ensemble that delivered stirring renditions including Nothing Else Matters — the theme that will echo through this year’s event.

The Supra Makes Its Mark

In a major announcement, Toyota officially revealed its GR Supra Supercar, set to enter the Repco Supercars Championship in 2026. The new contender will hit the grid with Walkinshaw Andretti United and Brad Jones Racing teams, marking a bold new era for the series.

Warburton hailed the news as a “transformational development” and a major milestone in the championship’s evolution. “Toyota brings exceptional international motorsport credentials spanning Le Mans to World Rally Championship competition, and their participation represents a pivotal moment for our championship’s evolution and expansion goals,” he said.

Driving Forward with Broadcast Deals

Another key announcement from the night was Supercars’ extended broadcasting agreement with Foxtel and Seven West Media. The new deal secures coverage for another four years, giving fans more ways to follow the action both in Australia and globally. Warburton highlighted the event’s international reach, stating the Bathurst 1000 now connects with more than 325 million households across 128 countries.

With more than 7000 campsites already sold out in record time, anticipation is building fast for this year’s race, set to run from 9–12 October. Tickets — including general admission, grandstand, and corporate hospitality — are still available through Supercars.com.

From the roar of V8s to the strings of an orchestra, the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 is shaping up to be more than a motorsport event. It’s a celebration of legacy, passion, and the future of racing in Australia.
