The beloved AFC Richmond team has officially returned. Last night at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, Apple TV celebrated the world premiere of the highly anticipated fourth season of its Emmy Award-winning comedy, Ted Lasso.
Executive producer and star Jason Sudeikis reunited with ensemble cast members on the AFC Greyhound Blue Carpet, marking a new era for the hit Apple TV programme.
A New Challenge in Richmond
In season four, Ted returns to Richmond to take on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second-division women’s football team. Throughout the upcoming episodes, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.
The blue carpet event showcased a mix of familiar faces and fresh talent. Fan favourites including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift were in attendance. They were joined by a host of new additions to the cast, such as Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely. Showrunner Jack Burditt and executive producers Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Liza Katzer were also on hand to celebrate the occasion.
Defending the Comedy Crown
Following its initial global debut, Ted Lasso broke records and quickly earned praise from fans and critics worldwide. The first season became the most Emmy Award-nominated comedy series in history and went on to secure rare back-to-back Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series for its first two seasons.
The creative team continues to expand, with Brett Goldstein serving as writer and executive producer alongside Leann Bowen. They are supported by writers and producers Sarah Walker, Phoebe Walsh, Sasha Garron, Julia Lindon and Dylan Marron.
