The wait is almost over for fans of Apple TV’s Emmy Award-winning comedy. “Ted Lasso” is officially returning for season four, with its global debut set for August 5, 2026 [ US Dates ]. The new season will kick off with a single episode premiere, followed by new weekly episodes dropping every Wednesday until October 7.
While no confirmation of Australian dates, we can usually expect that the release on Apple TV will be the same in all markets, so the Australian release is likely August 6.
Jason Sudeikis is back on board, starring and executive producing the highly anticipated new season. This time around, Ted returns to Richmond to tackle his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. The overarching theme of season four focuses on Ted and his new team learning to leap before they look, pushing them to take chances they never thought they would.
Fans will be thrilled to know that several series favourites are returning to the screen. Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift are all confirmed for the new season.
The Richmond family is also growing, with a fresh lineup of new cast members joining the series. Viewers will be introduced to Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.
Behind the scenes, the production is bringing in some heavy hitters. Emmy Award winner Jack Burditt joins as an executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV. The writing and producing team features a solid mix of returning and new talent, with Goldstein serving as writer and executive producer alongside Leann Bowen. Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh join as writers and producers, Sasha Garron co-produces, Julia Lindon steps in to write, and Dylan Marron will serve as story editor. As always, the series relies on its foundational team, having been developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Hunt, based on the preexisting format and characters from NBC Sports.
After landing rare back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series Emmys for its first two seasons, the expectations for season four are understandably high. With the first three seasons currently streaming globally on Apple TV, now is the perfect time to catch up before Ted and the new team hit the pitch this August.
Get ready to Watch Ted Lasso, Season 4 on Apple TV August 6.
