Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood have claimed the 2024 Bathurst 1000 title in thrilling style, winning the fastest-ever edition of the iconic race. The duo’s victory not only etched their names in motorsport history but also came with the added excitement of breaking the record for the longest period of green running in the event, with just a single safety car intervention around the 130-lap mark.
Kostecki, who started from pole position, dominated the race at the Mount Panorama Circuit with an assured and commanding performance behind the wheel of the #1 Chiko Camaro. Leading for much of the day, the team held strong against fierce competition, particularly from the Red Bull Ampol Racing pair of Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup. These two were the only real rivals to challenge Kostecki and Hazelwood’s charge, putting up a valiant effort but ultimately unable to match the pace of the Chiko Camaro.
More to Come.
