Supercars has officially unveiled a 14-round calendar for its milestone 30th anniversary season in 2027, featuring the return of Phillip Island and the first night race in Championship history at Darwin. The schedule was finalised following an updated Teams Racing Charter agreement between Supercars teams and category owners RACE. Running from February through November 2027, the campaign visits six Australian states and territories alongside back-to-back events across both the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
The 2027 championship structure maintains the three-phase format introduced in 2025, dividing competition into the Sprint Cup, Enduro Cup, and Supercars Finals. Racing begins at Sydney Motorsport Park from 26-28 February, before moving to Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania two weeks later. Teams then join the Formula One Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in early April.
Trans-Tasman Action, Night Racing, and Championship Phases
Following its debut in 2026, the New Zealand Double Header returns with back-to-back racing weekends. Christchurch’s Ruapuna Raceway opens the Kiwi leg from 7-9 May, followed immediately by Taupō International Motorsport Park from 14-16 May.
June marks a historic milestone for the category, with Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin hosting the first-ever Championship night race as part of the Darwin Triple Crown from 18-20 June. The Sprint Cup continues on the streets of Townsville in early July, heads west for a final visit to historic Wanneroo Raceway in Perth from 6-8 August, and concludes at Sandown Raceway from 27-29 August, where the Sprint Cup winner will be crowned.
The Enduro Cup phase opens at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia from 17-19 September, leading into the 67th running of the Repco Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama from 7-10 October. The Great Race will determine the top 10 drivers advancing to the Supercars Finals.
The Finals series starts on the streets of the Gold Coast from 22-24 October, before heading to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from 5-7 November. Phillip Island returns to the Championship calendar for the first time since 2019. The season reaches its conclusion at the bp Adelaide Grand Final from 25-28 November on a revamped street circuit.
Supercars Executive Chairman and interim CEO Barclay Nettlefold highlighted the balance of the milestone schedule.
"The 2027 Championship calendar is one that we're incredibly proud to deliver for our fans, teams, partners and stakeholders, as we prepare to celebrate Supercars’ 30th anniversary," Nettlefold said.
"The return of Phillip Island as part of the Finals will resonate with our most loyal fans, while new elements like night racing in Darwin and the revamped Adelaide street circuit continue driving the sport to new heights. Fans and drivers will return to venues they love, with race formats that deliver the spectacle and entertainment Supercars is known for. We believe this calendar strikes a strong balance between the number of events and the rhythm of the season."
Repco Chief Commercial Officer Wayne Bryant noted the strategic importance of the 2027 schedule.
"The Repco Supercars Championship continues to be one of the most exciting sporting series in Australia and New Zealand, and the 2027 calendar provides fans with an outstanding mix of iconic events and fresh experiences," Bryant said.
"The addition of Phillip Island, return of the traditional Sandown 500, and the introduction of night racing in Darwin demonstrate the momentum behind the Championship. The Repco Bathurst 1000 remains the jewel in the crown and we're looking forward to celebrating the 67th running of the Great Race in October."
The Dunlop Super2 Series will expand to a seven-round schedule in 2027, marking its largest calendar since 2019. This includes a standalone event at Mallala Motorsport Park, held while main Championship equipment travels to New Zealand. It marks Super2's first standalone fixture since 2008 and its first appearance at Mallala since 2006. Super2 will also feature at six main series rounds: Sydney, Darwin, Perth, Sandown, Bathurst, and Adelaide.
Broadcast coverage in Australia will be available live and uninterrupted in 4K UHD on Kayo SPORTS, with select events broadcast live and free on the Seven Network and 7plus. In New Zealand, Sky Sport and Sky Sport Now will broadcast every round live. Tickets for all 2027 events will be available for purchase starting 23 November 2026.
