5 Underground Electronic Music Events You Won’t Want to Miss This Halloween on the Gold Coast

Halloween this year falls on a Monday, which gives us a full weekend of themed fun. Get seriously spooky with some of the Gold Coast’s finest underground events, showcasing a diverse range of genres, from Drum and Bass, to House, Techno, and everything in between.

From techno raves to live acts and even a family-friendly dance music event, there’s something for everyone on the Gold Coast this weekend.

Friday, 28 October – KK Presents: HALLOWEEN RAVE @ SOHO (18+)

Founder of Karma Klub Java Greatorix pledges a “No commercial, only bangers” policy for the first night of the Halloween weekend. The event boasts a predominantly local line-up including Java himself, Bill Durry, Squid, Eve, Evns and Yasmin playing frightfully fun UK Garage, Bass House, and Drum and Bass in an intimate “Boiler Room” set up at Soho Bar in Broadbeach. There will be merch and other giveaways up for grabs on the night, and fancy dress is optional, so if you don’t feel like smothering yourself in fake blood – don’t! Karma Klub’s Halloween Rave might just be the perfect way to kick off the scariest weekend of the year.

Saturday, 29 October – Saturday Social Events HALLOWEEN SPECIAL @ Bonnie’s Café (All Ages)

??No babysitter? No problem! Bring the kids for a ghoulishly good afternoon of great music and frightening family friendly fun. Dance the afternoon away to a selection of Deep, Jack’n, Classic and Tech House and Uplifting Progressive sounds from DJ’s, Luke Alexander (NZ/Brisbane), Steve Mac (Gold Coast), Saturday Social regular Brenton and residents Graham Dunn and Mista G. Fancy dress is optional, but there are some great prizes on offer for the best dressed. Casual attire is also more than welcome and Saturday Social will provide a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere for all to enjoy. Food and drink are available all day and the venue is licensed for those who feel like a cheeky imbibement.

?Saturday, 29 October – PHATTRAX Presents: HALLOWEEN UK BASS + DNB AT SOHO Bar (18+)

??SOHO Bar is fast becoming the local haunt for those passionate about genres like Drum and Bass. Featuring a stunning line-up led by Brisbane DNB artist Phattrax, and solid supports including Filthy Philp (Brisbane) and locals Kinch, Jaizy and Inspectah, this event will deliver seriously spine-tingling DNB and UK Bass. Halloween-themed fancy dress is encouraged but optional, and there are prizes for best dressed on the night.

Friday, 28 & Saturday, 29 October – A Whole Weekend of Fear and Loathing In Rattlesnake

??Not to forget our friends on the Southern end of the Gold Coast, the local institution Rattlesnake Motel is serving up two nights for Halloween, and they are looking large. On Friday night, Brisbane’s Data Roaming will be delivering an energetic Bass House set. On Saturday night, eclectic local Drum and Bass Producer GRVYRDS will be playing a live set using keyboards, drum pads and bass guitar. The nights will feature other genres of music, including House, Tech House, and Dub. Fancy dress is optional, but the night is themed ‘Fear and Loathing in Rattlesnake’ so you may want to break out a suitable Hawaiian shirt, yellow-tinted glasses and bucket hat. Buy the ticket, and take the ride!????

Sunday, 30 October – HORROR DAY @ The Beverly / Arcade (18+)

??Event organisers Cross the LineEl Primo Productions, and Purity have joined forces to create a massive day and night of freaky fun. The day commences with ‘Horror at the Beverly’ with Sequence, Nick Reverse (WeLove, Sydney), Dark Mode, Valdes Herrera and Shamang on the controllers until 10 pm delivering energetic Tech House. For those who cannot get enough of the action, you can party on through to Halloween with the second instalment, ‘Horror at Arcade’. French techno duo Cosmic Boys are headlining with Kevin Paviani, Angel De Miguel, Poli and Valdes Herrera on support. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, and there’ll be UV body painting for those game. Do one, do both; either way if you it’s Techno and Tech House you seek, All Hallows Eve is set to deliver.????
