Teased earlier in the week was this epic collaboration between Amy Shark and Ed Sheeran, who have co-written “Love Songs Ain’t For Us” which is out today.
The new single is undoubtedly a career highlight for the eight-time ARIA award-winning Gold Coaster, working with UK singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran and Aussie legend Keith Urban.
It showcases a softer side to Shark’s normal confronting and melancholy anthems; Ed’s influence is certainly noticeable and brings Amy’s distinct vocals to a new range with the collaboration and brings out a heart-lifting love song.
Talking about the collaboration, Amy said
“Ed asked me if I wrote songs about my man, I told him I do, but love songs aren’t really for us. He then smiled and said, “ok, that’s what we’ll do then”. This song is as loved up as you’ll get from me, and I love it.”
The track also features Grammy-award winner and Aussie legend Keith Urban, who has also announced a recent set of tour dates for his “The Speed of Now Tour”, hitting Australia with 11 shows this December.
Amy explains how working with Keith on the track came about, “The song is so classy and timeless. I needed to find a class act to join me. Keith is so professional and well respected around the world, so it was a no brainer.”
