Amy Shark and The Star Gold Coast Strike a Perfect Chord

The Star Gold Coast teams up with Amy Shark for a bold new era of entertainment, with exclusive events and celebrations through 2026.

The Gold Coast is turning up the volume, and one of Australia’s most celebrated music icons is leading the charge. Eight-time ARIA award-winning singer-songwriter Amy Shark has been unveiled as The Star Gold Coast’s newest entertainment ambassador, launching a bold new era of unforgettable experiences for locals and visitors alike.

It’s a partnership that feels like destiny — one born from the coastal city’s creative energy and spirit of celebration. Together, Amy and The Star are set to deliver a dynamic line-up of events stretching into 2026, with the announcement arriving just in time for The Star Gold Coast’s 40th anniversary this November.

For Amy, the partnership is more than a professional milestone; it’s deeply personal.
“The Gold Coast has always been such a special place for me. It’s where I grew up, where I’ve written many of my songs, and where so many artists, including myself, got their start,” Shark said.

“Partnering with The Star Gold Coast feels like a homecoming. It’s a place where people come to celebrate, connect and make memories. I’m excited to be part of something that shines a light on the creative energy coming out of our city, and I can’t wait to help shape some unforgettable moments in my hometown.”

Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Amy’s ambassadorship marks a new chapter in her journey — not just as a performer, but as a driving force behind the region’s evolving entertainment scene.

To mark the announcement, 50 of Queensland’s top tastemakers were invited to step into Amy’s world through an exclusive backstage-style event dubbed For the Record.

Hosted at The Darling’s ultra-luxe Penthouse Deluxe Media Suite, the evening unfolded like a mixtape of memories. Every detail reflected Amy’s personality and effortless style: from a giant Italian cheese wheel inspired by her latest album cover to vibrant cocktails named after her biggest hits, retro sweets, Guitar Hero battles, karaoke sessions, and instant polaroid photo moments.

Amy Shark joins The Star Gold Coast as ambassador, celebrating local talent and delivering unforgettable moments for visitors and locals.

As the Gold Coast skyline glittered in the background, guests including David Subritzky, Lynn Gilmartin, the Sheppard siblings, and Gold Coast Titans’ Tino To’o Fa’asuamaleaui and AJ Brimson, were treated to an intimate live acoustic performance. Amy performed “Adore”, “Can I Shower At Yours”, and “I Said Hi”, blurring the line between artist and audience in a setting that felt like home.

Two Icons, One Vision

The Star Gold Coast Interim CEO, Dr Jennifer Cronin, described the ambassadorship as a natural alignment.
“Amy Shark is an extraordinary and proud Gold Coast musician who embodies the spirit and creativity of the city,” Dr Cronin said.

“Like Amy, we believe in backing local talent and giving artists a platform to grow and celebrate on home soil. We’re incredibly proud to welcome her as our official ambassador and we’re looking forward to working together to bring a series of live music moments, special events and memorable guest experiences to life at The Star Gold Coast.”

A Taste of What’s to Come

The partnership promises exclusive shows, immersive experiences, and creative pop-ups that spotlight Amy’s influence while amplifying The Star’s role as the Gold Coast’s ultimate entertainment destination.

To toast the launch, three bespoke cocktails inspired by Amy’s greatest hits were unveiled, with one — the Love Monster, a bold strawberry and passionfruit creation — now available at Cherry Bar for a limited time until 28 August.

This collaboration arrives at a milestone moment for The Star, as it prepares to celebrate four decades of entertainment in November with a blockbuster 40th anniversary celebration. More details will be revealed in the coming months, but one thing is certain: the soundtrack to this celebration has Amy Shark’s fingerprints all over it.
