Ashley Hart - Mambo Godess

Combining avant-garde designs with the cheeky bohemian style we’ve come to know and love, Mambo Goddess is back, and ready to take this Summer by storm! Faced by home-grown hottie Ashley Hart and Hungarian supe Barbara Palvin, the highly-anticipated collection will see the off-the-wall Aussie brand pay homage to where it all began: the streets and the surf.
Taking time away from her busy schedule, Ashley sat down for a chat about her latest conquest…
What can we expect from the latest Mambo collection?
Expect lots of energy and colour! Barbara (Palvin) and I had so much fun shooting the Mambo summer campaign in Venice Beach and I think it shows in the images! The collection features colourful casual wear that is comfortable and makes you feel good! Cute cotton shorts, flowy maxi skirts and boho beach dresses. I also love the printed bikinis and onepieces – I love the colour!
What do you love most about Mambo style?
The Mambo style is very much like my own. It’s relaxed, a bit boho, has fun with style and is effortlessly beach chic. I like pieces that you can throw on and feel confident in! Mambo is an iconic Australian brand that we all grew up with – when you think of the Australian beaches culture, you definitely think Mambo!
What are your favourite looks from the collection?
Other than the bikinis- which I love, especially the crochet bikinis and the tropical floral onepiece’s, I love love the maxi skirt. The matching Marrakech beach short is really cute as well!
Your sister Jess is also a Mambo Goddess – what’s it like working alongside her?
I love working with my sister. It’s a really nice experience to share with her. The Mambo Goddess club has featured some of Australia’s most beautiful girls – Jodhi Meares, Cheyenne Tozzi, Jessica Gomes, Ashley Cheadle, Erin McNaught and now Barbara Palvin (who is the first international face) – so it is exciting to be a part of that!
Who are your fashion inspirations?
I really love to be my own person and my style can change depending on my mood that day – however my sister is such an inspiration. She is so gorgeous and has a quirky style while still being so effortlessly casual, and then can be just as glamorous.
What’s next for you?
The Mambo for Big W range just launched for summer, which Barbara and I star in, and the Mambo Goddess range launches in City Beach stores and the new Mambo online store in October. I will continue working with the Mambo team as a Goddess, and travelling the world with various modelling jobs. I’m based in LA these days and when not modelling I teach yoga and meditation- another big passion of mine!
