From Live Aid to the Concert for Bangladesh and various bushfire and flood disaster appeals, the Australian music industry has always stood tall, ready to lend a hand and raise funds for those in need.

This time, it’s the Gold Coast music legends who are taking the stage, putting on a rocking show to support their mate, Barry O’Callaghan, who is currently in palliative care, and to provide much-needed assistance for his young family.

Barry, also known affectionately as Bazza, has been an integral part of the Gold Coast music and nightlife scene, with a career spanning multiple decades. His lens has captured countless musical icons and their performance on the Gold Coast from Johnny English at Twin Towns through to Nirvana’s iconic Australia Day performance at Fishermans Wharf Tavern in 1992, or most recently capturing Brian Cadd’s performance at Twin Towns this January. He has captured an iconic timeline of coast celebrations, culture, and musical moments and as a by-product his collection includes a timeless cross section of fashion and taste over the decades.

Now, some of the Australia’s finest musicians are coming together to show their support. Russell Morris, a true icon of the Australian music industry, fresh off his recent sell-out symphony concerts at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Arts Centre, is leading the charge. Joining him are the legendary singer-songwriter Brian Cadd, as well as their mates Brian Mannix, Digger Revell, Marcie Jones, Tony Worsley, and Peter Cupples. Compere Gavin Wood will be hosting the one-night-only show, set to take place at the fabulous Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast, Thursday, 17 August.

“I’m delighted to be part of this wonderful group of entertainers to help Barry and his family,” says Russell Morris. “Barry has always been there to lend a hand to others over the years. Now, it’s our turn to support him.”

Brian Cadd adds, “Please join us for what will be a great show for a great cause. We have an impressive lineup of Australian talent that has come together to help one of our own. And now we need your help to make it happen.”

The Gold Coast music community is known for its tight-knit bonds and willingness to support one another, and this event is a trust testament to that spirit. It’s a chance for music lovers and the local community to come together and show their support for a mate that has given so much to the music scene.

So mark your calendars for Thursday, 17th of August, grab a ticket and head down to the Miami Market for a night of incredible music and camaraderie. Tickets are available now, and all proceeds will go directly to support Barry O’Callaghan and his family during this challenging time. Let’s come together as one and make a difference in the life of a beloved member of our musical family
