Renowned and award-winning artist The Weeknd has just set the stage for an electrifying continuation of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour. The tour is set to embark on its next leg, commencing on Monday, November 20, right at the vibrant heart of Brisbane, Suncorp Stadium. With special guests Mike Dean and Chxrry22 joining him, this tour expansion promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans across Australia and New Zealand.
The After Hours Til Dawn Tour has been nothing short of a spectacular triumph, commanding global stadiums and breaking attendance records in its wake. The recent highlight came in the form of a staggering attendance record broken at London Stadium, where over 160,000 concert enthusiasts gathered over two exhilarating nights. The Weeknd’s artistic prowess took center stage in his largest headline show yet, leaving Wembley Stadium in awe with a record-breaking 87,000 tickets sold.
As the tour journeyed through Milan, The Weeknd’s star power shone brighter than ever, selling an astonishing 159,000 tickets. The artist’s unprecedented success continued with two sold-out nights at Ippodromo La Maura, establishing him as the first artist to achieve this feat. The enchanting performances in Paris saw The Weeknd making history yet again, amassing an impressive 151,000 attendees across two unforgettable dates. Notably, even Nice, France succumbed to The Weeknd’s magnetic allure, with an unprecedented 70,000 tickets sold across two mesmerizing shows.
Amidst the resounding applause and accolades, The Weeknd takes a humanitarian stance that resonates deeply. As a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye will once again channel the proceeds from this tour’s next leg into the XO Humanitarian Fund. This fund acts as a beacon of support during these trying times of an unparalleled global food crisis. Notably, the European leg of the tour recently raised over $1 million for the fund through ticket sales.
The North American leg of the tour echoed the spirit of generosity, with proceeds from exclusive tour merchandise, a substantial $500,000 donation from The Weeknd himself, and contributions from corporate partners, venues, and supporters. The tour’s official sponsor, Binance, added their voice to the noble cause with a generous $2 million contribution. The first allocation of these funds, amounting to $2 million, will make a significant impact by delivering emergency food and nutritional aid to the most food-insecure regions of Ethiopia.
Beyond the musical marvel, this tour reverberates with The Weeknd’s profound connection to his artistry. The celebration embraces his 2020 album “After Hours,” featuring the iconic single “Blinding Lights,” which has etched its name in history as the new No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song of all time, surpassing the legendary 1960 hit “The Twist” by Chubby Checker. Furthermore, the artist’s critically acclaimed album, “Dawn FM,” released in January 2022, continues to captivate hearts and minds.
For eager fans, there’s a window of opportunity to secure their tickets ahead of time. Vodafone customers can revel in a pre-sale event starting Friday, August 25, with ticket sales opening at 10 am for Melbourne, 11 am for Brisbane, and 12 pm for Sydney. Foxtel Rewards members, too, have an exclusive chance to snag reserved tickets starting Friday, September 1, from 10 am. The general public won’t be left behind, as tickets become available for purchase on the same day—September 1—starting at 10 am for Melbourne, 11 am for Brisbane, and 12 pm for Sydney.
The journey continues, and The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour promises an entertaining and emotional experience like no other.
