Cara Delevingne Drops Two Tracks in Musical Rebirth

Discover Cara Delevingne's musical rebirth with tracks I Forgot and Out of my Head ahead of her debut album.

It is always exciting when an artist steps into a completely new creative arena. Today, Cara Delevingne officially launched her musical career with the release of two interconnected songs, “I Forgot” and “Out of my Head”. Together, these tracks create an immersive seven-minute introduction to her dynamic sound and deeply personal lyrics. Fans can also expect a debut album to arrive this summer, released under her new label, Warner Records.

The impact of “I Forgot” is immediate, opening with Delevingne’s gorgeous, vulnerable vocal delivery of the line, “I forgot that the world was real”. Listeners are quickly swept up in a massive wave of distorted electronics, spare piano passages, and lush synths that mirror the visceral dissociation she explores in her writing. A trip-hop groove then transitions seamlessly into “Out of my Head”, where she sings, “Crowded / It feels like I’m surrounded,” before breaking free into an energetic drum and bass beat.

Co-produced by Delevingne alongside BJ Burton, who is known for his work with Bon Iver and Charli xcx, the songs cast traditional genre boundaries aside. To accompany the release, Emmy-winning director Jessica Lee Gagné created a stunning short film that breaks the fourth wall. The visual blurs the line between reality and artifice, showing the hidden infrastructure of studio stunts while Delevingne fights, dances, sings, and screams her way through the scenes.

Speaking about her new path, Delevingne shared her excitement. “Music was always that dream I had, but never believed I would get the opportunity to create,” says Delevingne of her music debut. “Writing ‘I Forgot’ felt like a rebirth for me and ‘Out of my Head’ was like going to therapy. Everything has felt like it’s led up to this point and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

Taking the music to the stage

The music industry is already taking notice of her ambitious vision. Aaron Bay-Schuck, CEO/Co-Chairman of Warner Records Group, adds, “I didn’t know what to expect hearing this music for the first time, but it surprised me in the best possible way. It’s an incredibly exciting and ambitious offering. It takes a lot of courage to be as vulnerable as Cara is on these songs, and she masterfully intertwines so many different sonic influences in a way that is both unexpected and risky, yet digestible. We truly couldn’t be happier to have Cara join the Warner Records family.”

Fans will not have to wait long to hear the new tracks live. Late last month, Delevingne announced a run of shows across Europe, the U.K., and the U.S.. The tour kicks off in Berlin on June 1, with stops planned in major cities like Barcelona, London, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York. She will also take the stage at several major festivals, including All Things Go NYC and the Primavera Sound editions in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo.
