Carolyn Morton is leading a community initiative to raise funds and awareness for Assistance Dogs Australia. The event, titled "Donate for Doggies Night", takes place on Saturday, 12 September 2026, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise.
Assistance Dogs Australia plays a crucial role in transforming lives by training dogs that offer practical support for everyday tasks as well as companionship for people living with disabilities.
Supporting Independence and Quality of Life
The organisation trains dogs to support individuals with physical disabilities, autism, and PTSD, helping recipients gain independence and an improved quality of life.
“Our dogs are trained to perform specific tasks that support individuals with physical disabilities, autism and PTSD, providing them not just assistance but a renewed sense of confidence and freedom," said Cristiane Carlos, Philanthropy Manager at Assistance Dogs Australia. "Assistance dogs help individuals gain independence and improve their quality of life.”
Organiser Carolyn Morton highlighted the necessity of community backing to maintain these training programmes and services.
“Our community's involvement is essential for the ongoing training and support of these dogs, ensuring that more individuals receive the assistance they deserve," said "Donate for Doggies" event organiser, Carolyn Morton. "The work that Assistance Dogs Australia does is vital to the well-being of many individuals in our community, and it’s imperative that we come together to support their efforts.”
