Global superstar Ed Sheeran is set to return to Australia and New Zealand in early 2026 with his brand-new Loop Tour, thrilling fans with an all-new stage experience and a fresh catalogue of music. Presented by Frontier Touring and MG Live, this highly anticipated tour will see the singer-songwriter light up stadiums in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide from January through March.
Following the release of his vibrant new album Play—due out on Friday 12 September—Sheeran’s Loop Tour promises a reimagined live show packed with surprises, fan favourites, and new tracks. With a performance style renowned for its innovative use of the loop pedal and intimate storytelling, Sheeran is expected to bring an energetic and emotionally resonant show to tens of thousands of fans across the region.
No stranger to Australian and New Zealand shores, Sheeran has already sold over 2.5 million tickets in the region. His last visit in 2023 shattered records, including two monumental nights at Melbourne’s MCG in front of 200,000 fans. Now, with his renewed creative spirit and expansive new album, Sheeran is ready to raise the bar once again.
Sheeran’s Loop Tour kicks off in Auckland at GO Media Stadium on Friday 16 January, followed by Wellington and a return to Christchurch—his first performance there in over a decade. The Australian leg begins on Saturday 31 January at Optus Stadium in Perth, before moving through Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and finally wrapping up in Adelaide on Thursday 5 March.
Play marks a turning point for Sheeran—a colourful, globally inspired pop album that reflects a period of travel and creative exploration. Led by singles like Azizam (already certified Gold and a #1 radio hit in Australia), Sapphire, and Old Phone, the album sees Sheeran blending Indian, Persian and Irish folk musical traditions into a genre-defying collection.
Described as “explorative” and “joyful,” Play features collaborations with producers and musicians from around the world, reflecting Sheeran’s ever-evolving sound and boundary-pushing approach. The stadium shows will mirror this new direction, incorporating bold visuals, acoustic moments, and crowd-powered singalongs that only Ed Sheeran can deliver.
With nearly 200 million records sold worldwide and accolades including 12 entries into Spotify’s Billions Club, Ed Sheeran continues to define the sound of a generation. His 2017 smash hit Shape of You was recently named Apple Music’s most-streamed track of the past decade, while Sheeran now boasts over 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify—making him the 4th most-listened-to artist globally.
