Broc Feeney has stormed into the Supercars championship lead after an emphatic Race 12 victory at the Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super 440, celebrating his 100th career start with a second straight win at Symmons Plains Raceway.
Feeney delivered a strategic masterstroke on Saturday afternoon, taking four tyres in a race where many rivals opted for two. Emerging from a frenetic pit stop cycle, the Red Bull Ampol Racing driver surged to the front and held off a competitive field to secure his second win of the weekend.
“We made it very hard for ourselves, doing four when everyone else did two,” Feeney said. “I didn’t expect so many people to come out in front of me. Great race with Nick, congrats to him, and Macauley, there was a lot of guys in there.”
The result catapults Feeney to the top of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship standings for the first time this season—and the first time since the Australian Grand Prix in March last year. He now leads Tickford Racing’s Cam Waters by eight points, with previous leader Will Brown slipping to third, 12 points behind after finishing 11th.
Feeney admitted the milestone added to the emotion of the moment. “I didn’t think I’d be getting emotional at the back end of that race, but with a few laps to go I was like, ‘man, this is going to be special’. To do 100 races, and to win today, both of them, is pretty special.”
The race also delivered a surprise podium for Nick Percat, who put Matt Stone Racing on the map with a strong second-place finish. Waters claimed third ahead of teammate Thomas Randle and an impressive Macauley Jones in fifth.
James Golding, Matt Payne, Jaxon Evans, David Reynolds and Jack Le Brocq rounded out the top 10, while key contenders Brodie Kostecki and Chaz Mostert endured frustrating outings—Mostert in particular dropping to 19th after a penalty stemming from a clash with Brown in the first stint.
