​The hit series Emily in Paris is officially coming to a close, with production for the sixth and final season kicking off today in Greece. Fans of the ambitious Chicago marketing executive have followed her intoxicating adventures, friendships, and unexpected romances since her dream job started in 2020. Now, it is time to say adieu.
A Global Pop Culture Phenomenon
Since its debut, the show has been a massive hit. Seasons one through five spent 32 weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10 list and reached number one in 90 countries. Between the first half of 2023 and the second half of 2025 alone, the series racked up over 250 million views. The programme has done more than just entertain; it has sparked fashion trends, generated endless memes, and boosted French tourism. French President Emmanuel Macron even praised the show for making Paris more appealing to visitors.
Series creator Darren Star is no stranger to putting cities on the map, having done the same for New York with Sex and the City and Los Angeles with Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place. His titles on Netflix have gathered 435 million total views during that same 2023 to 2025 period. Next up, Star is launching a new comedy series called Uncorked, focusing on a self-destructive Napa winemaker looking for a second chance.
