Triple j has offered a tantalising preview of what to expect when the Hottest 100 of 2025 kicks off tomorrow, revealing this year’s countdown is set to break records.

With votes counted and the final list locked in, the national broadcaster has confirmed that 26 acts will make their Hottest 100 debut when the countdown begins at 11am Queensland time on Saturday 25 January.

The station also revealed this year has delivered the most back-to-back entries in Hottest 100 history, while teasing that a major record is set to fall during the broadcast.

Ahead of tomorrow’s countdown, triple j’s annual fundraising efforts for We Are Mobilise have already raised $176,000, providing 3,911 nights of housing for Australians experiencing homelessness.

The Hottest 100 has become an unofficial Australian tradition, bringing together listeners across the country to count down the year’s most-loved songs as voted by the public.

The Afterparty

Once the final song of the Hottest 100 drops on Saturday night, the celebrations continue with an extended afterparty spanning the following week.

On Sunday 26 January, Double J will wind back the clock to revisit the Hottest 100 of 2005, starting at midday local time.

From Tuesday 28 January to Friday 31 January, triple j will reveal the songs that just missed out, broadcasting the Hottest 200 from 7am and 3pm Queensland time each day.

The complete Hottest 200 will then play out in full on Saturday 1 February from 9am local time.
