Jimmy Barnes spearheaded as the headline act for the festival, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Barnes will be accompanied by an A-list of legendary Aussie talent including Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens and Kate Ceberano, who have all been confirmed to perform at the family-friendly event. An initiative of Surfers Paradise Alliance (SPA) and presented by One Cavill, LIVE transforms the heart of Surfers Paradise into a multi-stage music festival with iconic Surfers Paradise beach providing a unique gig backdrop while the waves play percussion. All music tastes will be catered for, with 2013 X-Factor Australia winner Reece Mastin and high-energy pop music group Justice Crew confirmed among the star-studded line-up. Aside from the headline acts gracing the main stage, emerging musicians and bands such as Hussy Hicks, Benny D Williams, Hot Potato Band, Amistat and Cheap Fakes will entertain crowds on both the main stage and Cavill Mall stage from 1.30pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday through to 9pm. A key component of Surfers Paradise LIVE, the Gold Coast Music Awards (GCMAs) will be held on Surfers Paradise beach for the second year on Thursday, May 3. Accomplished Gold Coast singer-songwriter Bobby Alu will headline the Gold Coast Music Awards live show on the first night of the four-day festival. Together with the GCMAs, SPA aims to foster emerging music talent on the Gold Coast by giving up-and-coming musicians the opportunity to showcase their talent to a wider audience. Surfers Paradise LIVE received bronze in the ‘Major Events and Festivals’ category at last year’s Queensland Tourism Industry Council Awards, proving the festival is a huge hit on SPA’s year-round events calendar. Reese Mastin and Justice Crew will headline the event on Friday, May 4, followed by Jimmy Barnes and Daryl Braithwaite on Saturday night, and Jon Stevens and Kate Ceberano on Sunday, May 6. Festivalgoers can grab a refreshing drink from the ONE CAVILL BEACH HUT and catch all the action from the main stage live on a large screen from the comfort of a bean bag.
