Country music fans, saddle up — the Groundwater Country Music Festival is galloping back to Broadbeach this October with a powerful first lineup, promising three days of sun, surf and sensational sounds on the Gold Coast.

Leading the 2025 charge is Australian country legend Troy Cassar-Daley, fresh from a record-breaking Golden Guitar haul. He’s joined by US chart-topper Jackson Dean, fan favourite Brad Cox, and hotly tipped acts like Shane Smith & The Saints, The Wolfe Brothers, Lane Pittman, Sara Berki, and the 2025 Toyota Star Maker winner Felicity Kircher.

“I’ve played Groundwater quite a few times over the years — huge crowds all with one thing in common, their love of country music,” said Cassar-Daley. “This festival brings out massive international acts, putting our established and young, up-and-coming artists right there alongside them… it’s packed with love. I can’t wait to come down to play.”

The lineup blends major international names with fast-rising local stars, solidifying Groundwater’s reputation as a must-attend celebration of country music by the coast.

Returning to the festival after a stirring 2023 debut, Jackson Dean — the US sensation behind Don’t Come Lookin’ — said he’s thrilled to be heading back Down Under: “Stoked to get back to Goldie and see all you beautiful people… It's been too long since we've got to share our color of country music in the wild land down under.”

Also making waves this year is Lane Pittman, the 18-year-old Tamworth native who burst onto the scene via The Voice Australia and recently took home both New Talent of the Year and Song of the Year at major country awards. Meanwhile, Sara Berki, whose viral Gabba performance of Take Me Home, Country Roads hit over 7 million views, brings her high-energy set and a personal connection to the festival.

“There’s something very special about Groundwater,” said Berki. “There is no other country festival quite like it… To be able to mix Australia’s best with exciting international artists in this amazing location is truly a weekend you won’t want to miss!”

Alongside these headliners is a stacked supporting cast, including Max Jackson, The Buckleys, Minor Gold, Tyla Rodrigues, Bo’Ness Brothers, Claudia Tripp, Round Mountain Girls, The High Street Drifters, Hutch, and the ever-popular Beachside Line Dancing with Chris Watson.

Now in its twelfth year, the free festival continues to grow, drawing fans to its unique streetside and seaside stages. Whether you’re watching from a shady park, a bustling bar, or a balcony verandah, Groundwater promises a one-of-a-kind musical experience.

Festival Director Mark Duckworth said the event is becoming a coastal cornerstone for country music: “We’re building something special here — a celebration where country music thrives annually by the beach.”

Acting Mayor Mark Hammel echoed the sentiment, calling it a flagship event for the region: “This free family event aligns with our plans to be recognised as one of the best live music destinations in Australia. It’s time to dust off the Akubra and celebrate in October.”

Produced by Experience Gold Coast, the Groundwater Country Music Festival returns 17–19 October 2025, bringing heart, harmony, and high vibes to the iconic Broadbeach foreshore.
