Hot Dub Time Machine Announces 2018 Australian Tour

Hot Dub Time Machine Announces 2018 Australian Tour

Australian audiences will get a rare chance to experience one of the most distinctive (and biggest) dance parties on the planet this winter, with the exciting announcement that Sydney’s Tom Loud will bring his smash-hit time-travelling audiovisual production Hot Dub Time Machine to cities across the nation – his only Australian Tour for 2018. These shows signal the last chance for Australian audiences to experience this widely-heralded one-man show on home soil, before the DJ heads abroad to tour Europe and the US.

The announce comes hot on the heels of the rip-roaring success of Hot Dub’s Wine Machine concert series – that over the past two summers has witnessed nearly 100,000 people descend upon the country’s most breath-taking wine regions to experience the incomparable Hot Dub Time Machine lead an all-Aussie line up on an al-fresco stage in the grapevines.

It’s been a few years since Loud has done an Australian venue tour, proper – the popular DJ’s had his hands full headlining major festival main stages in Australia, breaking attendance records at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with b2b arena shows; and causing riots at Coachella. Loud is looking forward to delivering an “OG” set to his fiercely loyal legion of Australian “Hot Dubbers”, as well as new fans gathered from his grapevine gigs. These intimate headline shows will channel his huge success, while simultaneously paying homage to the humble beginnings of his project several years ago.

Audiences can expect a 2.5 hour masterclass in the evolution of popular music and dance – Loud will take the room on a chronological, audiovisual trip through the most iconic songs of history, replete with a curated big-screen visual show, slick lights, and an abundance of fun – confetti, balloons and everything you’d expect to find at a good party.

As well as the unexpected – whether it’s a gospel choir, special guest vocalists or a bagpipe ensemble, Loud never fails to pull out all the stops to delight his audiences. “No matter how much you need to pee, need another drink, or need to sit down…you spend the whole night on the dance-floor.” One and all never fail to stagger out of a Hot Dub experience in a daze, pieces of confetti in their hair, raving uncontrollably, reciting the show’s mission statement to all in their path: Best. Party. Ever!
