It could be that getting a little refresh has been on your mind for some time now – but you just haven’t had the nerve to act on it. We get it, it can be a little bit daunting. If you are considering Botox, fillers or any other treatment – then read our tips on how to choose the best practitioner for you.
Look at their reviews
Aesthetic practitioners are bound to be on some kind of social media platform. They will at the very minimum have Google My Business. As such, it should be fairly easy for you to find 3rd party reviews on the practitioner. Make sure you have a good read of them, and not just the star rating to get a feel for their level of service and results. Also look to see if there have been any responses from them, so you know how they handle clients.
Check out their before and after pictures
Either on their website or on social media – they are bound to have before and after pictures you can check out. This will give you an idea as to how the results will turn out. Make sure you have a look for the specific treatment you are after. Also check the length of time the photos were taken after if possible.
Check out their accreditations and media coverage
You should always check to see if they have the appropriate accreditations to practice in the first place. This will usually be displayed online, or in their place of work. Don’t be embarrassed to ask where they were trained. There are great academies like Derma Institute that produce fantastic practitioners. You should also do a good Google search to see if they have perhaps featured in any magazines, any industry related publications or other media outlets. Any bad press would also likely come up when doing this too.
Go for a consultation
Most aesthetic practitioners allow you to go for a consultation that is free of charge. This gives you the opportunity to meet them in person and see if you have a good rapport with them. It also gives you the chance to ask then any niggling questions you might have. A good tip is to be prepared and have your questions noted down so you don’t miss anything when you go.
Ask a friend who they use
It might be a bit of an unspoken subject, but if any of your friends have previously mentioned they have had fillers, Botox or anything like that – then why not ask them where they go to get it? Especially if you like the results. That way you know it’s someone you can trust, and it should give you some sense of ease about any procedures you might have.
If you are considering any cosmetic treatment, then make sure you do your research. Hopefully these tips will give you a good base for choosing the right person for you.
