The highly anticipated Kurrawa Park Sunday Ticket is making a return to Blues on Broadbeach 2025, with legendary Australian rock icon Jimmy Barnes headlining an exclusive one-off performance. Set for Sunday, 18 May, Barnes will take the stage with a special showcase of his iconic album, Soul Deep, promising a night of timeless classics and soulful rock and roll.

Following the resounding success of last year’s inaugural Kurrawa Park Sunday event, this year’s show is set to be even bigger, with festival organisers delivering another unmissable experience for music lovers on the stunning Gold Coast beachfront.

Jimmy Barnes Brings Soul Deep Back to Life

Barnes’ Soul Deep album holds a special place in Australian music history. First released in 1991, the album paid homage to some of the greatest R&B classics, featuring beloved tracks such as When Something Is Wrong With My Baby, I Gotcha, and River Deep – Mountain High. It became Australia’s highest-selling album of 1992, topped the charts at #1, and earned two ARIA Awards. Its immense popularity later inspired a follow-up album, Soul Deeper… Songs from the Deep South, released in 2000.

For Barnes, Soul Deep is more than just a tribute to classic R&B—it’s a return to his musical roots. Reflecting on the album’s impact, he shared:

“It’s always great to go back to my roots and sing the songs I listened to as a young performer learning to sing. Soul Deep has meant a lot in my life, and every time the band and I get to revisit these songs, it’s a great time for us and the audience.”

This exclusive performance will see Barnes and his band bring high-energy, heartfelt renditions of these classic songs to the Broadbeach stage, giving fans a rare opportunity to experience Soul Deep live.

An Ever-Growing Festival Experience

Blues on Broadbeach continues to expand its offerings while maintaining its reputation as one of Australia’s premier music festivals. The festival, which runs from 15 to 18 May 2025, is renowned for delivering an impressive lineup of free rhythm and blues performances across Broadbeach’s streets and venues.

Experience Gold Coast Festival Director Mark Duckworth highlighted the festival’s growth and the significance of adding a ticketed event to the program:

“We are thrilled to welcome Jimmy Barnes’ special one-off Soul Deep show to Blues on Broadbeach. Soul Deep introduced a generation of Australians to artists such as Isaac Hayes, Sam Cooke, Al Green, and Wilson Pickett, and I can’t wait to hear these songs live in the streets of Broadbeach.”

With the Kurrawa Park Sunday Ticket returning for its second year, festival organisers are ensuring that attendees get the best of both worlds—four days of free live music alongside a premium ticketed experience featuring one of Australia’s most celebrated artists.
