For those hungry for more music, Tuesday 27 January through Friday 30 January brings triple j’s Hottest 200 of 2025, with 20 songs a day dropping at 8am and 4pm. Then on Saturday 31 January at 10am Local Time, the full Hottest 200 of 2025 airs in its entirety. It’s a marathon of music that celebrates the breadth of Australian musical talent.
A Year of Record-Breaking Moments
Last year was absolutely massive for triple j’s Hottest 100. Across the annual countdown and the special edition Hottest 100 of Australian Songs, more than 5 million votes were tallied, and over $400,000 was raised for charity. Now, in 2025, triple j is ready to do it all again – and early signs suggest it’s going to be even bigger.
The 2024 results were record-shattering. Chappel Roan’s ‘Good Luck Babe’ scored the most votes ever for a number one spot. Royel Otis’ Like A Version soared to number two, and both Billie Eilish and Charli XCX smashed the record for most entries in a single countdown. Those are the kinds of moments that make the Hottest 100 unmissable.
Artists Are Locking In Their Picks
The triple j team and your favourite artists are already backing their picks for 2025. Baker Boy and The Terrys are championing Keli Holiday’s ‘Dancing2’, while PinkPantheress, triple j’s Abby Butler and Lucy Smith are all behind Ninajirachi. We Are Mobilise champion Nedd Brockman is riding for Dom Dolla’s ‘Dreamin’, and 5SOS have locked in ‘You’re A Star’, the collaboration from Fred Again and Amyl & The Sniffers.
These endorsements are just the tip of the iceberg. The triple j team and your favourite artists have plenty more picks to share, and you can check out the full list via the Hottest 100 site or triple j app. It’s worth browsing through to see what’s catching people’s attention this year.
