Miami is getting ready for an exciting new street festival this weekend. Precinct Brewing, Hard FIZZ, Granddad Jack’s, Black Hops, Pretty Handsome, and Haven are all participating and welcoming revellers for the ultimate ‘tasting paddle’. It promises to be an excellent event for all!
Dubbed the Block Party, the event will see around 1500 people flock to the so-called ‘Liquor Lanes’ of Miami on December 10 to sample some of the best beers, seltzers, and spirits the Gold Coast has to offer. The fest is expected to pump around $150,000 into the ‘Block’, which is bordered by Hibiscus Haven, Christine Avenue, and Lemana Lane, supporting around 60 jobs.
According to Hard FIZZ CEO Wade Tiller, the Block Party will be a real celebration of all that is great about the Gold Coast alcohol-making scene – specifically the little pocket in Miami. Tiller says that there will be entertainment with live music and DJs, delicious food, stacks of lucky door prizes, and, most importantly, some wonderful drinks to be tried and tasted.
The best part? There’s no entry fee; you can stroll around the Block at your own leisure and stick your head into whichever bar you like. If you have a favourite spot, you can even double back and enjoy it again.
Scott Imlach, owner of Precinct Brewing, says that the Gold Coast is forging an impressive reputation as a high-quality liquor-producing region. This area is becoming known for producing top-shelf liquor that is to be experienced and enjoyed, and that’s something we’re all very proud of, Imlach says.
“It’s a ‘destination’ now – people are stopping in for a gin cocktail, or refreshing seltzer, or any one of the great craft beers that are being brewed right here in Miami,” he adds. “It’s the start of the festive season, so why not let your hair down?”
