It’s a new weekend in the same location for The Repco Supercars Championship, with drivers returning to Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend for the second of four consecutive weekends of racing.

Two of the events races will be under lights this weekend, which is a first for the Eastern Creek venue and is sure to be a highlight for fans trackside.

However, celebrations are happening before the first cars have taken to the grid, with Triple Eight Race Engineering set to celebrate their 250th round starts this weekend with Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen taking to the track.

In their two hundred and fifty round starts, the Brisbane based team has amassed an impressive list of victories with eight driver titles, seven for Jamie Whincup, a record nine-team championship, and 216 race wins eight Bathurst 1000s victories.

Whincup has won all 123 races with Triple Eight aka Red Bull Ampol Racing. Craig Lowndes won 57, with current series leader Shane van Gisbergen on 41.
