New Balance & Kic Bring Inclusive Run Club to Gold Coast

New Balance and Kic launch a feel-good run club on the Gold Coast. Join the 8 Week Challenge now and run your way with support from the Kic community

When it comes to running, it’s not about how far or how fast — it’s about finding the joy in movement. That’s the spirit driving the latest partnership between global athletics brand New Balance and wellness powerhouse Kic, as they bring their much-loved Kicrun Club to the Gold Coast for a fresh season of feel-good, community-driven fitness.

Launching alongside the new Kicrun 8 Week Challenge, the Gold Coast club is part of a nationwide series of in-person run events taking place every Saturday in Sydney, Melbourne and now the GC. Open to runners of all levels, the club is all about stripping back the pressure and celebrating each woman’s reason to run — whatever that may be.

“This challenge isn’t about how far or how fast,” said Laura Henshaw, Kic co-founder and running advocate. “It’s about that joyful endorphin-rush that takes over and finding the fun in your run. Kicrun is personal, not performative — and we’ll be there on the sidelines through our Kic community and guided runs, encouraging you to run your way.”

Now in its third year, the Kicrun Challenge continues to champion inclusivity and empowerment in women’s running. Whether you’re starting from scratch, returning after pregnancy, or training for a half marathon, there’s a tailored option waiting for you. Participants can select goals of 3km, 5km, 10km or 21km — and for new mums, the 0–3km Return to Running Postpartum Program is also available as part of the challenge.

Steph Claire Smith, Kic co-founder, is leading the charge when it comes to making movement more accessible for mums. “It can be extremely daunting getting back into any physical activity post-pregnancy, but I am beyond excited to be leading this for the Kic community,” she said. “It’s really important to remember that you don’t need to do long workouts or stick to a complicated routine to get moving again. It’s all about listening to your body, being kind to yourself, and finding the joy in the movement you do.”

The Gold Coast addition of the Kicrun Club couldn’t come at a better time. With spring in the air and the countdown to summer well underway, the club offers a weekly chance to reconnect with your body, your community, and the outdoors. It’s a safe, welcoming space where you can jog, stroll or sprint your way through the weekend — with no expectations, and no judgement.

To top it off, the September launch coincides with the release of the latest Neon Green FuelCell Rebel v5 running shoe from New Balance. With its propulsive feel and bold, high-vis design, it’s built for everything from steady runs to spontaneous sprints — perfect for those early GC mornings or sunset jogs by the beach.

Whether you’re chasing a goal, reconnecting with yourself, or just getting out there ‘for the run of it’, the New Balance and Kic partnership is all about making movement meaningful — and more fun than ever.

Starting Saturday 27 September, join the Kicrun Club every week at 7 am at North Burleigh Lifesaving Club.

Enrolments for the 8 Week Challenge are open now via the Kic App, with the challenge running from 22 September to 17 November. For more on New Balance visit newbalance.com.au and to learn more about Kic, visit kicapp.com or follow along on socials at @newbalance and @kic.app.
