Patagonia has opened a new Brisbane store in Fortitude Valley, one of two new locations expanding its Australian retail footprint.
The store opened on Saturday 28 February 2026. Patagonia says the space has been designed to do more than serve as a retail destination, with an emphasis on community, storytelling and environmental action.
According to the brand, the Brisbane store is intended as a place for gathering, learning, collaboration and outdoor connection. It also describes the location as a home for conversation and creativity, alongside its core retail offering.
Dane O’Shanassy, Country Director at Patagonia Australia, said the new store is focused on strengthening ties with the local community.
“Opening these new stores is about much more than expanding our retail presence, it’s about deepening our connection with the communities who live, work and play in these places. From Hobart to Brisbane, we want our stores to reflect local identity, support grassroots environmental action, and create spaces where people can come together around shared values for the outdoors and the planet.
“These stores are part of Patagonia’s long-term commitment to this region, and to building community around the sports we experience and protecting the places we love,” O’Shanassy said.
Patagonia says the Brisbane opening builds on its wider environmental and outdoor community engagement across Australia and New Zealand, including support for grassroots conservation efforts. It also points to product innovation, quality and durability as core pillars of its business model.
More details on community programming for the Brisbane store are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
