Stone & Wood’s 2026 edition of the Festival of the Stone has successfully raised a record-breaking $30,419 for Fletcher Street Cottage, a vital community hub providing services for people facing personal hardship in Byron Bay.
Held on Saturday 20 June at the Stone & Wood brewery, the annual event saw a sold-out crowd of 2,000 attendees. The festival featured live music on the outdoor stage with sets from Pacific Avenue, Ruby Fields, Dear Seattle, Eliza & The Delusionals, and local act Drover.
Party with a purpose
Alongside the live bands, patrons enjoyed DJs on the Brew Deck, local food, and the 2026 edition of the festival’s namesake Stone Brew Beer.
The record funds raised will go directly toward supporting Fletcher Street Cottage as it delivers critical programmes and services for locals experiencing homelessness. This includes providing meals, showers, crisis relief, housing support, and a dedicated Women’s Space.
Damian Farrell, Manager of Fletcher Street Cottage, expressed his appreciation for the community effort.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Stone & Wood and everyone who came along to party with a purpose at Festival of the Stone this year,” Farrell said. “To see our community come together in this way means so much. These funds will make a real difference for Byron locals doing it tough, helping us provide practical support, connection and care at Fletcher Street Cottage when it’s needed most.”
A continuing commitment
Since its inception, the Festival of the Stone has raised over $130,000 for local charities, cementing its place as a major highlight on the Byron Bay music calendar.
Paul Tansley of Stone & Wood highlighted the brewery’s ongoing dedication to the local area.
“Festival Of The Stone is all about community and we’re so thrilled that Byron has once again rallied together to raise these much-needed funds for Fletcher Street Cottage while also having a great time,” Tansley said. “Good music, good beer and a good cause.”
