With Spring/Summer 18/19 collections swiftly making their way into stores, we sat down with one of Australia’s fashion icons Samantha Harris to give us an exclusive sneak peek into her top fashion and beauty trends just after her exclusive pop-up experience at Robina Town Centre
Fashion
From long days at the beach to nights spent at fashion events, spring/summer is all about refreshing palettes and feel good styles. With a revitalised vibe donning the clothing racks, Harris says bold colours, mixed patterns and fine detailing is what she’ll be looking for this season.
“My style is quite diverse, so I love to be a little adventurous with the outfits I wear and I think this season will have some incredible trends and statement pieces on show.
“I really love seeing patterns on a bold colour, flowing styles or dressing up a signature colour with vibrant accessories like bright head scarfs or large earrings – it’s what makes this season so fun!”
Signature spring/summer styles making an appearance at Sam’s exclusive pop-up shop include Sass and Bide, Camilla, Carla Zampatti, Sheike and more.
Beauty
This season, vibrant lips, strong brows and long eyelashes are the trending looks of spring. The two key beauty must-haves this season is a sleek gloss (making a comeback!) and quality highlighter.
“When it comes to make up, I always like to go for a more natural look, especially during the warmer seasons, and pairing it with either a bold lipstick or gloss.
“Something I’ve really loved incorporating into my look is using warm tones in my highlighter and blush. The combination of a warm highlighter on the high points of your face and a bronzed blush really emphasises your features and gives the illusion of a summer glow.”
To recreate these looks, spring artist favourites include Mecca Maxima’s Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder and NARS Audacious Lipstick.
Accessories
The essence of spring and summer is all about vibrant colours and bold statement pieces to compliment any look. To kit you out with on-trend and revived pieces, we asked Sam to share her go-to springtime picks.
“When it comes to jewellery, I like to keep it simple but beautiful. For instance, if I’m wearing large earrings, I want them to stand out and not be overpowered by anything else.
“Depending on whether I’m going to an event or taking time out for myself at the beach for example, my go-to pieces during spring and summer would have to be a statement clutch, sunglasses and a brimmed hat.”
