In some exciting news for the tourism and events sector, Supercars has released its draft calendar for 2022, and it outlines a return for the Gold Coasts biggest event.
The last two years have seen the Gold Coast 500 re-scheduled and cancelled twice, with local operators left wondering if it would ever return to the city,
The event is the biggest on the calendar and brings in an impressive fifty million dollars to the local economy over the three days. With many major events being cancelled over the last two years, this news is undoubtedly music to the ears of many.
It will be music to the ears of every Aussie motor race fan to know that the streets of the Gold Coast will light up to the sounds of Supercars in October 2022,” Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said.
“I know the drivers rate the street circuit as the toughest in the calendar given the millimetres between success and a wipeout on our tight concrete canyon circuit. I can’t wait.” said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.
