Grammy-nominated local legend and lord of the fizz Fisher surprised dozens of unsuspecting beachgoers yesterday morning when he took to Burleigh Beach to personally hand out 100 Hard Fizz Umbrellas.
The pop-up giveaway by Fisher’s hard seltzer brand Hard Fizz, is all for a good cause, making sure everyone was sun-safe while enjoying the sun and surf on the public holiday.
Arriving just after dawn in a bid to set the umbrellas up before the public holiday masses arrived, the crew hit Burleigh Beach and began planting around about a hundred of the colourful umbrellas.
Helping Fisher with the set-up was a cluster of famous faces, including his podcaster wife, Chloe, Ellidy Pullin and Brooke Evers.
“So many of the Hard FIZZ crew grew up here on the Gold Coast and spent a lot of time at the beach, and in the sun, so we thought what better way to give back to our hometown than give out some free umbrellas,” Fisher said. “It’s just a good deed, and if it can add to the sun safety message, then we’re happy to play our part.”
In the end, the umbrellas were all snapped up by beachgoers in a matter of seconds, and the only thing left to do was to get a few snaps with Fisher and the Hard Fizz crew.
