In a city renowned for its vibrant energy and diverse culinary scene, a new dining experience is set to make its mark on Brisbane. Inspired by the birthplace of W Hotels in New York City, The Lex is poised to channel the verve, spirit, and swagger of the Big Apple while embracing the authentic flavours of Southeast Queensland. Opening its doors on 15th June 2023, The Lex is nestled within the luxurious W Brisbane hotel, promising a captivating ambience and a menu that celebrates the local produce and characteristics that define Brisbane.

Drawing inspiration from the sunshine state’s laid-back mindset, The Lex brings a unique twist to the classic New York-style grill. At its core, the restaurant maintains a reverence for quality produce, natural cooking techniques, and time-honoured traditions. However, it also adds a playful touch to beloved classics, offering diners a modern and unique culinary experience.

Strategically located overlooking the iconic Brisbane River, The Lex features terrace-style dining, providing an airy and open atmosphere that connects guests with the outside world while creating a dynamic internal space. Stepping into The Lex is like embarking on a journey to uncover the origin story of W Hotels, with an immersive menu designed to stimulate all the senses. It seamlessly combines new and unearthed flavours with a grounded familiarity that promises to delight even the most discerning palates.

At the helm of The Lex’s culinary creations is Chef de Cuisine Pawel Klodowski, who joined the W Brisbane team in 2021. Working closely with his team, Pawel has poured his heart and soul into meticulously crafting every aspect of the dining journey. The result is a menu that champions the authentic produce of South East Queensland, placing a special emphasis on hyper-local ingredients and the stories behind them. Guests can savour a range of dishes, from an ice-cold oyster brine martini to a perfectly grilled, dry-aged local cut of beef, or even a tableside Caesar salad. The Lex promises to deliver familiar comforts in unexpected and playful ways.

Speaking about the restaurant’s inception, Chef de Cuisine Pawel Klodowski shared, “Being part of The Lex since its very beginning has been more than just a project for me. I’ve dedicated myself to carefully crafting every step of the dining journey with the team, and it’s an incredible feeling to see it come to life. I can’t wait to reveal this experience to Brisbanites and visitors to the city, showcasing the unique culinary adventure we’ve curated here.”

Cedric Rinaldo, Restaurant Manager of The Lex, added, “The excitement among the team here at The Lex has been palpable as we prepare to welcome guests from this June.”

General Manager of W Brisbane, Haldon Philp, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited to unveil this new restaurant concept and enhance our diverse beverage and food programming at W Brisbane. The Lex will elevate the hotel’s culinary offering with a refined menu and sophisticated dining experience from start to finish. Inspired by the birthplace of W Hotels, The Lex not only brings a highly sought-after dining experience to Brisbane but also connects us with our brand globally.”

To celebrate the launch of The Lex, W Brisbane is offering a Wine & Dine package, which includes overnight accommodation with valet parking, breakfast for two at The Lex, and a $100 dining credit to enjoy at the new restaurant. Starting at $549 per night, this package is available from 15th June to 31st October. Bookings can be made through the W Brisbane website at wbrisbane.com.
