Welcome back, John Sugar. Today, Apple TV dropped the trailer for the highly anticipated second season of “Sugar”. If you have been waiting to see Colin Farrell step back into the shoes of the iconic Los Angeles private detective and film connoisseur, your wait is almost over.
A New Case and Fresh Faces
Season two of Sugar promises an eight-episode run, bringing back the contemporary take on the classic private detective story. This time around, John takes on a brand new missing persons case. He is hired to find the older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer, all while continuing the personal search for his beloved missing sister. As the investigation deepens, it unravels a citywide conspiracy with sinister intentions, forcing him to decide just how far he is willing to go to do the right thing.
Along with Farrell returning as star and executive producer, the show welcomes a brand new cast. We will see Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly and Sasha Calle join the story, alongside special guest star Shea Whigham.
Premiere Details for the Neo-Noir Thriller
The acclaimed series will return to Apple TV on Friday, 19 June. Fans will get one episode on premiere day, followed by a new episode dropping weekly every Friday through 7 August. Sam Catlin takes the reins as showrunner and executive producer, alongside creators and producers like Mark Protosevich, Audrey Chon, and Simon Kinberg.
