Triple Eight Race Engineering has announced the signing of Will Brown, who will join Red Bull Ampol Racing from 2024 on a three-year deal. Brown, a 25-year-old proven race winner and one of the category’s most exciting talents, will become a part of the new partnership in January 2024. The announcement comes via a press release from Triple Eight this afternoon. The decision follows the team’s agreement to allow Shane ‘SVG’ van Gisbergen to pursue his dreams of racing in overseas categories in 2024 and beyond.

Red Bull Team Principal Jamie Whincup expressed that the team’s complete focus remains on their 2023 Championship pursuit. “From the outset, Triple Eight has wholeheartedly supported SVG’s choice to showcase his world-class talent abroad. We eagerly anticipate witnessing his continued track prowess, reminiscent of his performance in Chicago last month.”

“Will has been on our radar for years, ever since he drove an ex-Triple Eight car in the Super2 championship. His on-track excitement, affable nature, and alignment with our Triple Eight culture make him a superb fit. Additionally, his friendship and shared racing history with Broc [Feeney] enhance the equation.”

“Of course, our current priority is the fight for the Drivers’ and Teams’ Championships this season. Triple Eight’s immediate focus remains firmly set on this goal.”

Both Brown and van Gisbergen will return to the Supercars grid, going head-to-head in the 8th round of the 2023 Supercars Championship at The Bend in South Australia this weekend.

Brown presently holds the second spot in the Repco Supercars Championship race, piloting his Coca-Cola Erebus Camaro. Van Gisbergen follows closely in third place, just 13 points behind Brown. Van Gisbergen is in pursuit of his third consecutive and fourth career Supercars title. Brown’s teammate, Brodie Kostecki, leads the Championship, maintaining a 41-point advantage over Brown as they head into this weekend’s action. The upcoming Bend SuperSprint will be exclusively broadcast live on Foxtel and Kayo, with the Seven network presenting highlights on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
