Which Airbnb Amenities Aussie Travellers Want

Airbnb Reveals Which Amenities Aussie Travellers Value Most, 1 in 2 Aussie Travellers Consider Social Media When Making Holiday Booking Decisions

Functionality first

According to a consumer survey commissioned by Airbnb*, an overwhelming 97 percent of Australian travellers surveyed say amenities impact their travel experience. And while accommodations have the highest impact on holiday quality, amenities come in a very close second for Australian travellers.

Comfort over connectivity

As for the most important traits travellers look for in an amenity? The majority of Australians (57%) rate functionality first, like having a coffee maker or a full set of wine glasses and thoughtfulness second, like a bottle of wine, a bicycle to get around town, or a beach bag already packed with everything needed for a day in the sun

Pools, parking, family

Everyone loves the luxury and look of a beautiful pool, but perks like free parking, and family friendly amenities rise to the top too. The majority of Australians (54%) prefer free parking. And travellers holidaying with their family prioritise family-friendly amenities.

Social savvy

And while practical things like kitchens and washers rank highly among both Australians and global travellers, according to the survey, nothing beats that Instagrammable pool! In fact, more than half of Australians (51%) surveyed admit they consider how their holiday will look on social media when booking their holiday accommodations.

Airbnb’s global host community goes above and beyond to provide these amenities already to guests through Airbnb Plus, which are homes verified for quality, comfort and design. From stylish urban lofts to tiny cabins with breathtaking views, Plus is available in 14 cities worldwide, including Sydneyand Melbourne.
