This morning at Kirra Beach the World Surf League’s best joined members of the ocean community at the Australian instalment of a worldwide paddle out, to celebrate International Surfing Day, founded by the Surfrider Foundation, and to raise awareness to #StopTrashingWaves.

Joining the paddle out we’re the best of the best with 11 times world champion Kelly Slater, Jack Freestone, Alana Blanchard, Josh Kerr, Bede Durbidge and Wade Carmichael just a few of the top CT competitors taking part with over 100 Gold Coast and North Coast surfers this morning.

This is all about raising awareness and getting millions of people across the globe to take the pledge and #StopTrashingWaves. The World Surf League is backing this initiative and many others like the aim of becoming a carbon neutral sport by the end of 2019, the elimination of all single serve plastics by the end of 2019 and leaving each and every stop on the tour better than it was found.

So will you join us all in taking the pledge to #StopTrashingWaves
