This is going to be the biggest show yet for theatrical powerhouse Matt Ward, with a production value expected to be over $2m; they are in the midst of casting three young actors to play Billy Elliot, with exceptional ballet technique, outstanding tap, and acrobatic abilities. They’re looking for a “triple threat” – someone who can sing, act, dance their heart out, and connect with the audience.
Set in a Northern English mining town during the 1984-85 miner strikes, The story follows Billy, an 11-year-old coal miner’s son who discovers his love of dance and ballet and his battle to pursue his passion against the pressure to conform to his circumstances.
The award-winning musical isn’t just about the stunning on-stage performances but is supported by a sensational musical score written entirely by the legendary Sir Elton John.
