Cold Chisel, one of Australia’s most beloved rock bands, has just announced a whopping six additional shows for their landmark 50th Anniversary Tour, “The Big Five-0”. This unprecedented move comes in response to the overwhelming demand from fans across the country, eager to celebrate a half-century of Cold Chisel’s iconic music.
The additional shows will take place in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, where tickets for the initial concerts sold out within minutes. Moreover, listening to the vocal outcry from fans, the band has added shows in Canberra and the Hunter Valley to their tour itinerary. This expansion takes the total number of concerts on the Australian leg of the tour to an impressive 23, including a special performance at the VAILO 500 in Adelaide.
Cold Chisel frontman, Jimmy Barnes, expressed his astonishment at the phenomenal response, saying, “The demand for tickets was bigger than anything we’ve ever seen before.” Chisel guitarist and vocalist, Ian Moss, added, “Unfortunately we can’t do gigs everywhere so we’ve tried to get to the places where the outcry was loudest. That’s why we’ve added new shows in Canberra and the Hunter Valley, as well as additional gigs in Brisbane and Sydney plus two more in Melbourne.”
Cold Chisel’s dedication to their fans is undeniable, and the palpable excitement surrounding the tour has the band fired up and ready to deliver unforgettable performances. Beyond the live shows, the band is also releasing a best-of album, “50 Years – The Best Of,” on Friday, 23 August. This double-vinyl, double-CD collection features all of their classic hits and includes a brand new track, “You’ve Got To Move.”
Tickets for the new shows go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, 18 June at 1.00pm AEST. However, fans who are part of the Cold Chisel, Face-to-Face Touring, and ticketing company mailing lists will have exclusive access to a pre-sale beginning Monday, 17 June at 1.00pm AEST.
Among the new shows is a performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, 30 October 2024, with special guest Karen Lee Andrews. Cold Chisel will then play two back-to-back concerts at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Friday, 22 November and Saturday, 23 November 2024, with The Cruel Sea and Karen Lee Andrews in support.
On Thursday, 28 November 2024, the band will be heading to the Patrick White Lawns in Canberra, with the same special guests. The Roche Estate in the Hunter Valley will host the rock legends on Saturday, 30 November 2024, in a show presented by the Red Hot Summer Tour. This concert will also feature performances by The Cruel Sea, Birds of Tokyo, The Superjesus, and Karen Lee Andrews.
Finally, Cold Chisel will return to Sydney to perform at the QUDOS Bank Arena on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, once again supported by The Cruel Sea and Karen Lee Andrews.
