With the recent events in the United States around the tragic death of George Floyd, the reverberations of change have now found their way to Australia, and this weekend, in particular, James Street in Burleigh Heads.
The team at Seadog will be giving away FREE coffee this weekend in support of Indigenous lives matter campaign and hoping everyone who comes down will help them by throwing some support for local indigenous corporation Krurungal.
A number of local businesses have donated some great prizes to raffle off in support of the organisation with the top prize being $1000 worth of Cedar & Stone goodies, as well as some vouchers for Lahana Swimwear and The Collective Palm Beach and more.
Seadog Espresso is no stranger to getting behind a great cause; last year, they gained national media attention when they held another free coffee event. A weekend of coffee for women, with all money raised from men getting coffee they donated to Support The Girls Australia.
Brodie Green owner of Seadog is a Gold Coast local and sees the recent worldwide movement a call to action saying.
“We all saw recently how Black Lives Matter are having a significant impact on America as a society. I saw this and felt hugely inspired to do something myself – something genuine and with change in mind for the local and greater Gold Coast area.”
