Kita Alexander Announces Sophomore Album RAGE

Kita Alexander reveals RAGE, out 26 June 2026, and shares the personal story behind the album’s title.

Kita Alexander has announced their highly anticipated sophomore album RAGE, set for release on 26 June 2026 via Warner Music Australia.

More than a headline-ready title, RAGE is positioned as a personal statement and a full-length narrative about an emotion Alexander says has reshaped the last few years of their life. In the artist’s words, “Rage has been the catalyst of positive change in my life over the last couple of years. The album is about an emotion I’ve always had but never understood. It’s me looking at it and embracing it as a new friend and realising that I don’t have to shut it down or avoid looking at it.”

That framing is central to the album’s concept. Rather than treating rage as something to fear or suppress, Alexander describes it as a signal, and even a tool, that can point to what matters and what needs to change. “An emotion that is usually seen as ugly or wrong has helped me have the confidence to create necessary change in my life that I was otherwise scared of doing,” they say. “Rage has helped me find what truly matters to me and to change my life in ways that work for me.”

It is a strong thesis for a pop record, but it also fits Alexander’s reputation for frank songwriting and big, accessible melodies. The announcement describes RAGE as a body of work that “permits listeners to feel, process and to make meaning of their emotions”, with Alexander expressing the hope that listeners find permission, not judgement, in the experience of hearing it.

“I hope that when people listen to this album, they feel like it’s ok to have rage,” Alexander says. “As long as we sit with it, process it, ask it what it is telling us, then maybe we will all be a little bit better off because we can truly listen to ourselves and make active changes that help support what our own needs are.”

To mark the album reveal, Alexander has also released the title track and lead single, ‘Rage’, offering a first taste of the emotional world the album aims to explore. The artist describes the song as a turning point in the making of the record, and points to the recording process as a moment where the theory became something real and physical.

“This song was the most healing song off the whole record,” Alexander says. “When I got to recording the middle 8, I was scream-singing. I realised that it was the most powerful connection to my rage that I’ve ever had. It wasn’t contained or controlled, it was a pure feeling.”

As a lead single, ‘Rage’ is presented not only as a hook-driven introduction to the project, but as a map of the emotional arc that sits behind it. Alexander explains that the song traces how the feeling evolved over time: “This song explores the journey that I’ve had with rage, from it being a quiet sensation of a warning to watching it grow into a beast that needs acknowledgement and demands change.”

A music video for ‘Rage’ arrives with the single, directed and shot by Roman Anastasios (JACOTÉNE, Charley). The visual is described as “a raw one-take filmed in Byron Bay” that follows the song’s healing journey and Alexander’s connection to the emotion at the heart of the record.

The new album also arrives with significant momentum behind Alexander’s catalogue. RAGE follows the debut album YOUNG IN LOVE, which debuted at #3 on the ARIA Australian Album Chart and led into a sold-out national tour. The announcement also notes widespread acclaim from outlets including Rolling Stone, NME, Billboard, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and RUSSH, as well as a 2024 ARIA nomination for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Award.

In 2024, Alexander was also ARIA nominated alongside FISHER for Song of the Year, Best Dance / Electronic Release and Best Produced Release for their co-write ‘Atmosphere’, which the announcement states “shot to #1 on the US Radio Dance Chart” and holds “2 x ARIA Platinum” certification.

Recent touring and releases have continued to build the picture of an artist moving confidently between pop craft and larger stages. In 2025, Alexander opened for Dua Lipa on the sold-out, 10-date Radical Optimism Australian and New Zealand tour. The same year included UK performances at The Great Escape, a sold-out headline show in London, and a return to Australia for the headline Press Pause tour.

Alexander released three singles in 2025, including ‘Press Pause’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home’ and ‘Bluray’. ‘Press Pause’ also earned a 2025 ARIA nomination for Best Pop Release, and Alexander performed at the 2025 ARIA Awards.

The broader stats attached to Alexander’s rise are equally notable. The announcement cites more than 500 million global streams, including 2 x ARIA Gold singles (‘Damage Done’ and ‘Like You Want To’), the ARIA Platinum ‘Between You & I’, and the 2 x ARIA Platinum single ‘Hotel’, alongside three EPs and collaborations with FISHER, Morgan Evans, LAUREL and CYRIL.

Kita Alexander Rage will be released on June 26, 2026

Alexander’s next chapter is framed as both a pop release and an invitation: to sit with difficult feelings, listen closely, and let the emotion point to the change that needs to happen.
