Congratulations on Making it so far in the coveted miss universe Australia competition tell us a little about yourself …?
Thank you very much. At the moment, I am studying Nursing and Science at James Cook University. I have a few jobs on the side, which include working as a barista at a café; on the beach front, working at RFT Modeling and I also regularly volunteer for Red Frogs Australia through my local church, Calvary.
Who or what inspired you to get involved in the Miss Universe Australia Pageant …? What drew you to such a competition …. I get asked this question a lot, and the first thing that pops into my head is a time where I was watching Miss Universe at a early age, walking around the house pretending I was a model.
I didn’t just enter because I am girly, it is because I have come so far in my life and have faced so many extraordinary challenges. It’s these challenges that have inspired me to help others on a daily basis and be able to advocate for other young women; just like myself, to love and look after yourself.
Speaking of inspiration who inspires you most …?
If you are successful in the pageant you will become a possible inspiration or role model to many young girls how does this sit with you …? And what do you consider are the attributes of a good role model …? 2009 Miss Universe Australia, Rachael Finch is such an inspiration to me. I cried when I watched her on television in 2009. It just goes to show just because I live in a rural city doesn’t mean my opportunities and growth need to be limited. It is my dream to inspire others. I want to help other young women grow and excel to their full potential. I believe the most important attribute of being a good role model is to be confident, have both respect and concern for others and to not be afraid to be unique
The Miss Universe Pageant has a long history of associating with charity are their any social causes that are particularly close to your heart that you would like to use the platform of miss universe to advance …? I live to help others. I regularly donate to world vision, volunteer with Red frogs Australia and have traveled to Africa to teach English and help build schools. It’s hard to pick one. However, I am strongly passionate in helping children.
Miss Universe Australia is involved with Operation Smile. This organisation is a children’s medical charity. Where help is provided to children who are born in developing countries with facial deformities. I would love to raise further awareness for this wonderful charity
What do you think will set you out from the rest of the entrants competing in the 2015 competition …? All of the finalists I have spoken to seem so kind and smart. The unique qualities that will set me apart from the other finalists include, my overly generous personality and ambition to succeed, having confidence to express myself and I am able to successfully accomplish my goals. I also want to win Miss Universe Australia to further promote happy healthy living alongside advocating for organisations such as Operation Smile.
