Miss Universe Australia - QLD finalist Katherine sits down for a chat !!

Hi Katherine ,
thanks for taking the time to sit down and have a chat with us today…. firstly congratulations on making it through to the finals next month …excited …?
Thanks you for having me! I’m very excited about the finals and can’t wait to see the other girls again.
So after an action packed weekend what is next in the preparation for the finals …?
Lots of healthy eating! i try to drink around 2 litres of water a day and have a lot of vegetables in my diet. i love to get outdoors and exercise in the fresh air so i’ll be doing plenty of that too!
What prompted you to take the leap to the Miss Universe Australia pageant?
I am involved in alot of charity and volunteer work with children and I think that the Miss Universe Australia pageant is a platform which promotes young women and celebrates beauty which comes from the inside and not just from the outside and it is something that I wanted to become involved with.
Miss Universe Australia has opened up a lot of opportunities to entrants in the past. What kind of opportunities do you think this competition will open up to you?
I think that the Miss Universe Australia Pageant opens up alot of opportunities for entrants to become spokespeople for organisations and causes which they are passionate about but mostly I am just looking forward to the experience.
A lot of people underestimate the pageant girl [Their Mistake], what has been your most rewarding experience so far? My most rewarding experience so far was representing Australia at the World Tap Dancing Championships in Germany in 2009. It was a humbling experience representing my country, it was also interesting to see the different dancing styles from around the world!
What city do you belong to? Tell us a little about where you grew up/live.
I currently live in Brisbane but I grew up in Ipswich. It’s a community rich in values at the core of Australian culture. I was proud to see Ipswich work together rebuild our community after the devastating floods last year.
There are a lot of impressive people involved in the Miss Universe Australia pageant. What makes you stand out?
What have you got that the other girls don’t?
I think that each person is a reflection of their own experiences and it is those experiences that makes each girl different. It is my individuality that is different and will make me stand out.
Everyone has a mission in life. What do you think your mission is? I believe that my mission is to live a fulfilling and happy life, to bring joy to those around me and to help others achieve their goals as well.
Thanks Again for having a chat and Best ot luck in the finals
