Miss Universe QLD Finalist Interview - Katerina Lanshakova

Well, Autumn is in full swing, and It’s also that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is well underway with state finalists being announced across the country.

So we thought it would be a perfect time to kick off some home state interviews with Katerina Lanshakova. Congratulations on making it through to the state finals, why don’t you tell us about yourself?

My full name is Ekaterina, and I have to shorten it, so it is easier for people around. I am Siberian and in a happy relationship with my partner where we both strive for the better things in life and support each other. I’ve reached my small goal of Duty manager position and now up for bigger achievements.

We all have motivations, Mine usually revolves around coffee but what was your key motivation for entering the MUA competition?

I entered the Miss Universe Australia to boost my self-confidence, and also hope that the exposure might lead to career opportunities and changes and of course, to use the platform to become a voice for causes that are relevant to our society as well to empower women.

What part of the Miss Universe Australia program are you most looking forward to?

So far every day when we get emails about upcoming events for MUA, there are amazing workshops & opportunities which make me excited for the QLD titles and finals.

We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?

Let’s be honest, every girl in this contest has a beautiful personality and unique charm all their own. But what makes my uniqueness stand out is my open and warm personality and positive attitude toward everything that I do even when people around tells me I can fail.

With the state finals, less than a fortnight away, has your routine changed at all?

My routine is pretty much the same. I train 5-6 times a week on a regular basis unless I am tired and decide to have a bit of rest. 🙂

What is something that you hope to bring to the Miss Universe Australia pageant?

I have lived and worked in completely different countries and specialised in intercultural communications.

We will wrap up with a few irrelevant and random questions, now that my coffee has worn off.
Name five things you can’t live without?

My partner and family.. 🙂 but actually phone is an integral part because it is my direct connection with my partner when he is away for four weeks for work and family as they are far away and in different countries.

How long does it take you to scroll through Facebook before giving up?

3 minutes. I don’t really scroll through Facebook just check updates and notifications. 🙂 I spend more time on Instagram though

How would your closest friend describe you?

I think my best friend would describe me as warm, friendly, honest, fun and understanding. And very organised & responsible – whenever our group of friends had to coordinate an activity, they always relied on me.

When You Dance, You look like?

J.Lo and Beyoncé combined lol At least I hope so. 🙂

So not long now until this highly anticipated event that will see 28 of QLD’s most beautiful women compete to secure a spot as a QLD National Finalist, and go on to compete in and represent QLD in the Miss Universe Australia National Final. Get Your Ticket Here
