Miss Universe QLD Finalist Interview - Maddisen O'Donahoo

Well, Autumn is in full swing, and It’s also that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is well underway with state finalists being announced across the country.

So we thought it would be a perfect time to kick off some home state interviews with Maddisen O’Donahoo. Congratulations on making it through to the state finals.

We all have motivations, Mine usually revolves around coffee but what was your key motivation for entering the MUA competition?

The key motivating factor for entering this year would definitely be how driven it makes me in so many aspects of my life while I am competing. Not only do I train harder, but I also work smarter and manage my time better. It makes me a stronger and more dedicated version of myself… I get a thrill out of challenges and smashing goals!

What part of the Miss Universe Australia program are you most looking forward to?

I am most looking forward to the social aspects and the training. I love to work out and make new friends, so being a part of Miss Universe definitely, fulfils both of these. Oh and the freebies from the sponsors never go unnoticed 😉

We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?

I am definitely a “go hard or go home” kind of person. This has its strengths and weaknesses at times; however can be used to my advantage in a competition like Miss Universe, as I am willing to give it all I’ve got.

With the state finals, less than a fortnight away, has your routine changed at all?

Physically, I am working out more and getting to the gym each day. I have been mixing up my workouts with spin classes, boxing, metabolic conditioning and weight training. Mentally I am making more time for myself to chill out (which is something I haven’t done a lot of in the past) and I am finding it so beneficial to my overall health and wellbeing. I want to be up on stage feeling fabulous and completely focused.

What is something that you hope to bring out of the Miss Universe Australia pageant?

I hope to bring out new friends, amazing experiences and a whole new world of networks.

We will wrap up with a few irrelevant and random questions, now that my coffee has worn off.
Name five things you can’t live without?

My cat Chia, my family, herbal tea, sunshine and chocolate.

How long does it take you to scroll through Facebook before giving up?

I’ll be honest and say I am guilty of a good long scroll, Instagram too.

How would your closest friend describe you?

A crazy cat lady who constantly wants to get the most out of life and will do anything it takes to achieve something I set my mind to.

When You Dance, You look like?

A wannabe Beyoncé, emphasis on the wannabe… haha

Finally, and this one is important, so please pay attention… What do you think pets dream about?

If I’m basing it off my beautiful cat Chia, I would have to say Food (Tuna and chicken to be exact) and probably me! We share a pretty special bond, and her Instagram is cooler than I will ever be @chi.od
😛

So not long now until this highly anticipated event that will see 28 of QLD’s most beautiful women compete to secure a spot as a QLD National Finalist, and go on to compete in and represent QLD in the Miss Universe Australia National Final. Get Your Ticket Here
